ROKAnol DB5 - C12-15 Pareth-5 surfactant

ROKAnol DB5 - C12-15 Pareth-5 is a non-ionic surfactant. It belongs to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols with the INCI classification: C12-15 Pareth-5. Together with other Rokanols, DB creates a whole series of surfactants with high surface activity, based on ethoxylated fatty alcohol with a carbon distribution of C12-C15. The excellent detergency properties of ROKAnol DB5 make the product a first-class ingredient in washing and cleaning agents dedicated to both home and institutional use.

ROKAnol DB5 is characterized by limited solubility in water, with which it forms cloudy solutions. Perfectly combines with other non-ionic surfactants. It is also compatible with anionic and cationic surfactants. The product is distinguished from other surfactants belonging to the Rokanoli DB group by its reduced foaming capacity.

ROKAnol DB5 at 40°C is a clear liquid with a light color, which on the Hazen scale reaches a maximum value of 50. The product is present in a concentration of approximately 100%. It is characterized by a high cloud point at the temperature level of 65÷72 ^o C for the butyl diglycol/water solution. The solidification point of the product is about 10°C, and its hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) is 10.5. Thanks to its physicochemical properties, the product is distinguished by excellent detergent properties, but also emulsifying and dispersing properties. Hence the wide spectrum of its applications in many different industrial applications.

ROKAnol DB5 as a detergent ingredient can be a great alternative to standard anionic surfactants, where effective cleaning requires high concentrations of active substances at high temperatures (e.g. when washing cotton fabrics). The detergency of ROKAnol DB5 is high enough that fabrics can be washed even at low temperatures with reduced concentrations of the active substance in the washing baths. ROKAnol DB5, due to the ability to emulsify mineral oils, is also used for stains from machine oils, which are usually formed during the processing of fabrics and knitted fabrics.

The ROKAnol DB5 - C12-15 Pareth-5 surfactant is widely used in various types of preparations for industrial and institutional applications. As an excellent emulsifier, the product is suitable for degreasing all metal surfaces. It is also used as an additive to plant protection products (pesticides), especially in liquid EC, EW, SE herbicide formulations.

ROKAnol DB5 is easily biodegradable in the natural environment. The surfactant complies with the biodegradability criteria laid down in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.
