POLIkol 600 - PEG-12

POLIkol 600 belongs to the group of polyoxyethylene glycols PEG (INCI: PEG-12). It comes in the form of a liquid, white paste characterized by high viscosity and very good moisturizing, softening, lubricating and solubilizing properties. It has a strong hygroscopic effect and anti-electrostatic properties.

POLIkol 600 is a raw material widely used in the production of cosmetic products, where it acts as a solubilizer. It also works perfectly as a water-binding humectant in formulations, where it also works well as a rheology modifier of active substances. Anti-electrostatic properties determine its use in the industrial cleaning industry and in metalworking processes. The product is used in the production of agrochemicals (especially fertilizers), where hygroscopic properties are particularly desirable. It is also a raw material widely used for the production of esters in the chemical industry.

Thanks to its properties, POLIkol 600 also works very well as an addition to various types of applications in the construction industry. The product has a positive effect, for example, on improving the mechanical properties of polyurethane foams. Its use in the production of polyurethane systems reduces the brittleness of foams and increases their compressive strength. POLIkol 600 is also an excellent addition to concrete and mortars, where it affects the speed of their hardening. It allows for better and faster bonding of materials and reduces water loss in mixes. The product is also used as an additive to self-hardening concrete.

Another application of POLIkol 600 is the food industry. The product has a positive opinion of the FDA (Food and Drug Agency) which allows the use of polyoxyethylene glycols as indirect food additives on the basis of the CFR 21 lists: 175.105, 175.210, 176.180, 176.200. Please note that PEG-12 in the food industry can only be used in accordance with the recommendations and guidelines provided by the FDA, especially regarding the use of appropriate doses.

The product is a biodegradable substance, not classified according to the CLP/GHS Regulation.
