Formic acid 85%, carboxylic acid is used in the chemical industry, used to produce a solution of formic acid and other chemical compounds; in the tanning industry for tanning/tanning animal skins, in the textile industry for dyeing fabrics, as a pH regulating agent. Also for the preparation of metal surfaces, for washing and regeneration of installations as a pH chemical reagent; also used to regenerate aeration systems in aerobic wastewater treatment processes. Effectively clears ceramic, plastic and steel diffusers. Also used as an acidifier, fungicide, in beekeeping and chemical syntheses.
