C16-18-Alkylamin – ROKAmin SR15 – CAS 61791-26-2

ROKAmin SR15 is a non-ionic surfactant belonging to ethoxylated fatty amines. Its freezing point is about -3°C. It is characterized by a medium degree of ethoxylation (15 moles). The product is based on tallow amine, which is why it has a characteristic, amine smell.

The commercial product is a viscous and flowing paste with a brown color. It is in concentrated form, where the content of active substance oscillates around 100%. It dissolves well not only in water, but also in alcohols and acetone.

In acidic applications, ROKAmin SR15 shows an effect similar to cationic and non-ionic surfactants. This is due to the presence of a double oxyethylene chain at the nitrogen atom.

The characteristic feature of the product is its ability to create a specific film on the metal surface. This is undoubtedly an advantage, because the protective layer has excellent anti-corrosion properties. ROKAmin SR15 is therefore often used in the mining industry as an anti-corrosion agent.

ROKAmin SR15 is often used as an emulsifier and leveling agent in the fiber dyeing process due to its properties. The ability to emulsify also predisposes the product to be used as a component of agrochemical formulations such as: EW, EC, SL, ME, WP, WG.

ROKAmin SR15 is also a surfactant used in the lubricant industry, mainly due to its good solubility in water, emulsifying and anti-corrosion properties. The product is perfect for the production of cooling and lubricating fluids.

In addition to the above-described properties, ROKAmin SR15 is characterized by high detergency. It effectively removes even difficult and persistent dirt. It works perfectly in both acidic and alkaline environments. It also shows high resistance to hard water. These features make the product very well suited for formulations used in the industrial and institutional washing and cleaning industry.
