About product

Precipitated calcium carbonate, (chalk) technical - is a chemical raw material that is used in the chemical, rubber, plastics, footwear and paper industries. In construction, it is used to compose cements, plasters, but also adhesives or putties. Its powdered form is used in the chemical industry to produce quicklime.

Precipitated calcium carbonate is a chemical compound with the formula CaCO 3, a salt of carbonic acid and calcium. At room temperature, it occurs mainly as a white, crystalline substance or powder that is insoluble in water. In nature, it is widely distributed as a default component of many minerals and sedimentary rocks. Calcium carbonate is a raw material with wide industrial applications.

Applications of calcium carbonate in industry:

  • as a filler for the production of rubber, paper, toothpaste, putty, acrylic paints, plastics (PVC, PP, PE) or school chalk
  • for wastewater and industrial water treatment (increasing water pH to a more alkaline one), water softening, i.e. removing calcium, magnesium and polyvalent metal salts
  • a building material, in ground form, it is obtained from it under the influence of high temperature, into quicklime, i.e. calcium oxide
  • for the production of cement, plasters, plasticine and modeling clay
  • for the production of powder fire extinguishers
  • in the ceramics and glass processing and production industry.
  • in the production of hardeners and fillers for structural elements
