Weiss Holz is a preparation for removing blue stain in wood. Blue stain in wood is a big problem for foresters and sawmills. Especially in the spring and summer, because wood turns blue most easily then - high humidity and heat threaten it. Therefore, preventive measures should be used. At a wood moisture content of 23%, wood enters a dry protective state, which protects it from the development of blue stain.

What is blue stain and where does it occur?

Blue stain is a discoloration of coniferous roundwood or sawn materials in a color from blue to green-black. It occurs in the wood of dying trees, in roundwood and in sawn coniferous species, mainly in pine and spruce wood, but it is not found in healthy trees remaining on the trunk or on dried-out wood. Weiss Holz application methods:

Bath: take a bath at a temperature of 5-20 C, bath time 15 minutes.

Rubbing: rub into the bruised areas with a stiff brush or paintbrush.

Spraying: spray from a distance of 15-20 cm (always with the wind if the treatment is performed outdoors). The treatment should be repeated after 24 hours if the wood is heavily infected and the blue stain does not disappear.

Regardless of how and where Weiss Holza is applied (indoors, outdoors), personal protective equipment must be used.

Recommendations: before use, test the effect of the preparation in a less visible place. Use the product on wood in its raw state, i.e. only mechanically processed. The effect of the product may be less effective on wood that has been thermally or chemically processed (higher temperature or other chemical preparations applied). The effectiveness of the action also depends on the degree of blueing of the wood, humidity, wood and air temperature. If there is no effect after a single application of the preparation, the action should be repeated. The surface of the wood can be wrapped in foil to enhance the effect of the preparation. In order to remove the residue of the preparation, the wood can be neutralized with water.
