Sodium hypochlorite - commonly known as liquid chlorine or liquid chlorine - is one of the means of disinfecting water in the pool. Using sodium hypochlorite, we can disinfect both the water in the garden pool at home and large pools in sports centers, hotels, spas, etc.
There is no one golden rule for dosing sodium hypochlorite. The effectiveness of active chlorine in solution depends on many factors, the most important of which are:
Active chlorine is most effective at pH 7.0, so before we start disinfecting water with hypochlorite, the pH of the water in the pool should be set between 7.0 and 7.4. During the first dosing, use - for standard tap water - 200-250 ml of 15% sodium hypochlorite solution per 10,000 liters of water, then replenish deactivated chlorine every few days by adding 150-200 ml of 15% sodium hypochlorite solution.
It should be remembered that pool chemistry is only to support the purity of water and not the golden mean for its maintenance. Regular filtering and collecting impurities are still necessary care treatments. However, if the water in the pool is still opaque (cloudy, milky, green, etc.), it means the need to use other pool chemicals.
