Betoplast K is an air-entraining and plasticizing admixture dedicated to concrete and cement mortars. The product is an aqueous solution of anionic and non-ionic surfactants. It has the form of a homogeneous blue liquid. At a temperature of about 1°C, it solidifies. The product is perfectly soluble in mixing water.
The most important function of the product is to increase the frost resistance of concrete. In addition, the aeration function ensures the plasticization of the concrete mix, especially in the production of vibropressable elements. Thanks to this, it prevents the charging element from blocking during the production of paving stones.
Betoplast K is designed to introduce fine and stable air bubbles into the fresh concrete mix. Thanks to this, evenly distributed pores give the concrete frost-resistant properties. Broken capillaries reduce the absorption of hardened concrete, and during low temperatures, freezing water expands in the pores, increasing its volume, which prevents the increase of internal pressure. In addition, the product improves the plasticity of concrete. It causes the air bubbles to act as bearings, increasing the workability of the mix without changing the W/C ratio (water/cement). What's more, using Betoplast K significantly reduces friction during the concrete pumping stage.
