POLIkol 600PF meets the stringent quality requirements set out in the latest edition of the European Pharmacopoeia, thanks to which it can be classified as a macrogol. Macrogols are the pharmacopoeial name of polyethylene glycols, which are used as ingredients in medicines, ointments, dermocosmetics or other pharmaceutical preparations. Due to their specific properties, macrogols act as solvents and solubilizers of active and auxiliary substances in pharmaceutical formulations. They are substances that improve the rheological properties (increase viscosity) of liquid pharmaceutical preparations and ointments, and also work well as an excellent solubilizer in formulations. These products are used as binding agents for active substances, stabilizing dispersions, as well as carriers of fragrances, causing the effect of their prolonged release. They are also used as humectants, i.e. agents whose task is to bind water included in the formulation, thus ensuring even distribution of ingredients in them. These products are also recommended for washing preparations due to their specific properties supporting skin cleansing.
POLIkol 600PF can be used as an auxiliary agent in the production of drugs, a solvent, a viscosity increasing agent or a binder. It is also used in products for personal hygiene and cosmetic products such as toothpaste, where it acts as a dispersant and is designed to bind water and maintain an even distribution of the remaining components of the paste, including xanthan gum. In addition, macrogols are safe, non-toxic substances and are characterized by the lack of negative environmental classification.
