ROKAfenol N7 is a non-ionic surfactant belonging to the group of ethoxylated nonylphenols with the INCI name: Nonoxynol-7. It has the form of an oily liquid with a maximum color of 70 on the Hazen scale. The cloud point of this product for the butyldiglycol/water solution is in the range of 66-70°C. The commercial product contains about 100% of the active substance and solidifies at a temperature below 0°C. The product is poorly soluble in water and forms emulsions in it.
ROKAfenol N7 acts as a component for obtaining washing, washing and cleaning agents, it can also be used as an emulsifier. Its hydrophobic-hydrophilic balance lies on the border of oil solubility and water solubility. This feature enhances the detergency and wetting properties of the surfactant composition. ROKAfenol N7 is a homogenizing agent in aqueous and non-aqueous systems containing other surfactants, mineral and vegetable oils and organic solvents.
As an oil emulsifier in the tanning industry, the product has a softening effect, improves throughput and increases the strength of the raw material. It works perfectly as a washing agent for wool, and also has a very high ability to penetrate various fibers. It is a surfactant that retains its washing capacity even in cold and hard water. ROKAfenol N7 is resistant to elevated temperature and high concentration of electrolytes. In addition, it can be used in difficult process conditions, e.g. when washing wool and cooking cotton, as well as a component of lubricants for ingots and dies for the metallurgical industry.
Excellent resistance to oxidizing and reducing agents, stability in lyes, ability to prevent the precipitation of calcium salts make this agent an excellent detergent and emulsifier in the textile, pulp and paper industry and in tanning. ROKAfenol N7 can be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliary agents and together with anionic and cationic agents.
It is used as an emulsifier of oils for tanning leather with a simultaneous wetting effect and as a detergent for cleaning, stain removal and bleaching in the paper industry. It is especially recommended for washing and degreasing wool. It is used for washing tops, yarn, woolen knitted fabrics without the addition of alkalis and as a penetrator and equalizer for dyeing, debonding and finishing fibers, carbonization of wool and brewing cotton before dyeing. It also serves as an emulsifier of oils, solvents, silicone lubricants to prepare process preparations for spinning, carding and other operations, for all types of vegetable, animal, chemical and mixed fibers.
ROKAfenol N7 can be used as a stabilizer of rubber emulsions, synthetic latexes, natural and synthetic waxes, polishing agents and finishes obtained on their basis, and as dispersants for the production of paint emulsions based on rubber latex, also with high calcium concentration in emulsion varnishes.
European Union regulations - Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EC) No. 648/2004 of March 31, 2004. on detergents - limit its use to industrial cleaning, textile and leather processing and metal processing using closed circuits, where the working fluid is recycled or burned.
