ROKAnol IT7P is a product aimed at specialized cleaning of gas turbines. It belongs to non-ionic surfactants from the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI name: Isotrideceth-7). The product belongs to the ROKAnol IT series, forming a large group of surface-active products based on isotridecyl alcohol (iso-C13).
At 50°C, the product is a clear or slightly turbid liquid with a light color (max. 100 on the Hazen scale). At a temperature of about 2°C, it solidifies. The commercial form contains about 100% of the active substance. Compared to other ROKAnols of the IT series, the product is characterized by a low content of Na⁺ and K⁺ ions, thanks to which it is not corrosive to metal surfaces, even at very high temperatures (so-called temperature corrosion). The product forms cloudy solutions in water.
In cleaning formulations intended for gas turbines, it is used together with high-boiling solvents, e.g. BDG. The advantage of the product is its low foaming and effective reduction of the contact angle on metal surfaces. In combination with a solvent, it shows a high ability to degrease the surface and remove baked-on dirt. Turbine cleaning formulations containing Rokanol IT7P can be used both in combined heat and power plants and in aviation.
