ROKAmin SR5 is a non-ionic surfactant with the INCI name: PEG-5 Hydrogenated Tallow Amine. It belongs to the group of ethoxylated fatty amines with an average degree of ethoxylation of 5 moles. The commercial product contains about 100% of the active substance. ROKAmin SR5 is in the form of a viscous liquid or a flowing paste with a yellow to amber color. Its freezing point is approx. 15°C. The product is poorly soluble in water.
Due to the presence of a double oxyethylene chain at the nitrogen atom, the product exhibits a combination of action as a non-ionic and cationic surfactant in application, especially in acidic systems. Due to its cationic nature, the ROKAmin SR5 molecule can form a single layer (film) on the metal surface. This makes the product anti-corrosive, especially in relation to ferrous metals.
ROKAmin SR5 is used as an emulsifier and leveling agent in fiber dyeing. On the other hand, in the lubricants industry it is used as a component of the formulation of cooling and lubricating liquids and flame-retardant hydraulic fluids. Good emulsifying properties allow the product to be used in agrochemical formulations such as: EW, EC, SL, ME, WP, WG. It can be used alone or in combination with other surfactants in this application.
ROKAmin SR5 has very good detergency properties, thanks to which it effectively removes solid dirt. The product works well in acidic and alkaline formulations and is also resistant to hard water. Thanks to such properties, it can be used in the industrial and institutional cleaning industry as a component of hard surface cleaners, industrial degreasers and metal cleaners.
